We have a deep well. We can supply a cot for an additional guest to sleep down on the main floor. There is also extra room in the sleeping loft next to the full size mattress for a child. Just like camping - only better! No tent to set up. Get away from it all in this quaint little one-room cabin 8' x 10' nestled in the woods on 8.

It is located off of Brainard Lake Road. For winter access you will need 4-wheel drive. During the winter, parking is near the entrance to our property closer to the main cabin and guests need to snow shoe or ski in the remaining yards. Of course, winter hiking also known as "post-holing" is also an option. We have two sleds rigged up for you to use. Play all day in Indian Peaks Wilderness, Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park or any of the dozens of nearby attractions and then retire to this peaceful little haven where you will enjoy the wood burning stove's warmth and a pot of tea or glass of wine as you relax, journal, read, write, paint or just daydream.

Cook out on the grill and enjoy dining outdoors at the huge rustic table with stumps and stools for seating. Please be sure to crack a window for proper ventilation. It has a small cooking area with Coleman 2-burner propane stove and a well-equipped galley. There are paper towels, dish cloths, and cleaning supplies. We have complimentary tea and hot chocolate.

This sleeping arrangement is in addition to the sleeping loft. Climb the ladder to the sleeping loft furnished with a full mattress sleeps two covered with blankets, comforters and lots of pillows. A convenient and clean outhouse is available a short distance from the little cabin. The Brainard Lake Recreation Area - offers an extensive network of hiking, mountain biking and in the winter, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails right out your door.

Indian Peaks Wilderness — high alpine peaks are easily accessed and only a short distance away. Peak to Peak Highway — enjoy a scenic mountain drive or a spectacular road bike ride particularly in the fall with the golden aspens at their peak. Ward — Enjoy a surprisingly wonderful meal and the intimate atmosphere at Marrocco's Restaurant yummy pizza!!

Allenspark — 13 miles enjoy local mountain flavor with horseback riding, small cafe, pizzeria, community center, and antique store.

Allenspark has its own riding stable and the Fawnbrook Inn, a 4-star restaurant for fine dining. Eldora Ski Resort 18 miles — just down the road from the town of Nederland -- enjoy downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic, alpine and cross-country skiing, as well as snowshoeing.

Boulder Canyon - rock climbing, swimming, kayaking and fly fishing. Black Hawk and Central City 31 miles — visit these historical mining towns and check out the casinos. Boulder 32 miles - The progressive town of Boulder itself is 17 miles down the canyon road, and offers a large variety of shopping, restaurants and the famous Pearl Street Mall. Estes Park 36 miles - this tourist town serves as the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park with loads of shopping, dining, and other attractions. Nederland 13 miles - a unique mountain town with a variety of restaurants, coffee houses, shops and live music venues, as well as a great visitor center and mining museum right in the heart of town.

It rejuvenates me to just sit and look at the ever changing mountain scenery. At the same time I can take the truck out 4X4'ing in some pretty awesome, challenging roads. ATV and Motocross bike riding can definitely find a home here.

Easy off street parking via the alley. The property is shared with my home in the front, and a separate, private, guest space on the ground level beneath you. The kitchen has all the basics for your home on the road: Gas stove, microwave, full fridge, small dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, hot water kettle, blender and hopefully any cooking instrument you need. There will be a few condiments and spices available- and some items left by previous guests.

If you don't see it, send me a text and I'll most likely have what you need from the main house. I'll have coffee and tea to help make mornings a little easier. Towels and linens will be exchanged when you stay more than 5 days. If you need to do a load of laundry we can make arrangements for you to do so in the main house. Because Colorado has pretty mild, non-humid, weather, there is not a central air conditioner for this space. But, there is a strong, new, AC window unit in the bedroom I love a cold room when I sleep too!!

Be like a local and open the French doors to the deck and enjoy the evening air. Please feel free to ask questions! I'm happy to work with you for special requests. I love my neighborhood. It's old. It's eclectic.

Oral tradition and the archaeological record

It's full of great people with interesting stories. One house will be a perfectly restored Victorian, the next home needs TLC and has seen better days. On lovely afternoons, folks will be out on their porch or in their yards, happy to chat with people walking their dogs or on their way to dinner and a beer. Like anywhere, be sure to lock your car and not leave valuables visible. If you need, we can arrange to store larger items in the shed. Hopefully you'll love this quirky part of The Springs as much as I do.

Enjoy views on Golden Gate Canyon State park while taking deep breaths and absorbing the silence and calm of the nature surrounding you. The apartment is located under the main house where we live year round. Be prepared for a true mountain experience during your visit and don't hesitate to ask questions! Take a walk in the park, go to one of the close by fishing ponds Setup your hammock outside on the property and take a nap like many others have done.

Stay in a converted tiny house that was once a s carriage house! Please note: the loft is accessible by pipe ladder so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues -Dedicated gallon water heater is perfect for 2 quick showers, but not ideal for bubble baths. A keypad lock makes check-in effortless for convenient Carriage House access throughout your stay.
